Enter the colourful Pantone Universe.
June 2nd, 2010
For those who wish to live life in Technicolor, the recently opened Pantone Hotel in Brussels makes for an overwhelmingly colourful stay in the Belgian capital.
Pantone LLC, the X-Rite company, is the global authority on colour and their foray into hospitality won’t disappoint Pantone followers.
Designed by Belgian interior designer Michel Penneman and Belgian architect Olivier Hannaert, each of the hotel’s 7 floors are brightened by colour palettes, both vivid and subdued, but true to Pantone’s bold block colours, mostly vivid.
Pantone Inc has been creating systems for identifying, matching and communicating colours “to solve the problems associated with producing accurate colour matches in the graphic arts community” since 1963.
The Pantone Hotel is part of the Pantone Universe – an ever-expanding range of colourful products created to entice design-loving consumers.
White walls in each of the 59 rooms are transformed by a vibrant use of the Pantone colour palette. The rooms also feature photographic installations created by Belgian photographer Victor Levy – photos which have been enhanced with a spectrum of Pantone colours.
From the iconic mugs through to a line of spectacles and cashmere sweaters, the Pantone Universe covers every angle of the design sphere, and the newly opened boutique hotel, fully embraces this aesthetic.
