Product Description
Materialised’s acoustic sheer curtain fabrics absorb sound and are flame retardant, wide width and durable. To quantify the product for commercial acoustic solutions, each is tested and awarded an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) rating.
Woven with a ribbon-shaped Trevira CS yarn, this filament is the key to their sound absorption, managing the flow of sound waves repeatedly passing through and bouncing off a reflective surface. This changes the tone, becoming muffled, and results in the reduction of sound levels.
With the fabric positioned 15 to 20cm from the window or wall, our acoustic engineers found that it could absorb up to five times as much sound as a typical lightweight, non-acoustic fabric.
“Materialised’s acoustic sheers absorb significantly more sound energy than any other sheer fabric that I know of. In contemporary decors where hard surfaces are preferred, these acoustic sheers are an ideal way to introduce desperately needed, unobtrusive, and highly effective sound absorption.” – David Spargo, owner of Praxis Acoustics.
