Woven Image has refreshed some of its most popular upholstery collections and expanded its patented acoustic panel solution with new colours and variants.
October 12th, 2018
Woven Image was established in 1987 to cater to the architecture and design industry’s appetite for design-driven interior finishes. Always attuned to the beat and shifts in the global design world, Woven Image is quick to adapt to the latest technology, innovations and trends with a vast offering of high-performance textiles and acoustic finishes for commercial interiors across the workspace, hospitality and education sectors.
And it continuously updates its existing collections to keep up with the creative industries. This September, Woven Image introduced new colours to its popular upholstery collections and its patented acoustic panel range, EchoPanel. Taking the theme of ‘Refined Ambiance’, Woven Image’s upholstery updates include five new colourways for both the Quiz and Zip ranges, and a rejuvenated colour palette for the Epoch collection.
Quiz and Zip‘s patterns were inspired by the angular forms of Chinese puzzle tangram, and the architectural quality of Dutch fashion designer Iris Van Herpen. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, they are produced from durable, 100-per-cent solution-dyed polyolefin and Oeko-Tex certified yarns using green energy (certified 100-per-cent renewable energy).
Zip features a larger-scale pattern with bold intersecting lines that create irregular forms. The five new colourways include neutral tone latte, cool colours azure and duck egg blue, and complementary colours olive and sunshine yellow. Quiz offers a finer pattern, and combines up to four yarn colours per variant, creating a richer tonal dimension that ties the whole palette together. The colour update includes the aforementioned azure, duck egg blue and latte, and warm tones blossom and coral.
Made in Australia, Epoch is a 100-per-cent certified wool fabric with low VOC levels, and is eligible for automatic approval for use in Green Star buildings. The wool used in Epoch can be batch-tracked right to its original farm gate, providing a visibility on its life cycle. Epoch features an elegant, two-tone texture achieved by combining two to three yarn colours. The collection’s new colour palette comprises 15 colours ranging from on-trend vibrant hues like lilac, olive, lemon and lime and deep cool shades like turquoise and marine blue, to neutral shades like cool grey and classic black-and-white combination.
Invented in 2004, EchoPanel is Woven Image’s original decorative interior panelling solution with exceptional acoustic qualities and outstanding sustainability credentials. Durable, lightweight and easy to cut and install, EchoPanel is made from 60-per-cent post-consumer waste sourced from single-use PET bottles and printed with environmentally friendly pigments that deliver excellent lightfastness while remaining low-VOC, non-flammable and non-toxic.
EchoPanel boasts a 10-year life expectancy, after which it is still 100-per-cent recyclable. To date, Woven Image has diverted over 103 million 1L PET bottles from landfill to produce EchoPanel products. Thanks to this, EchoPanel can secure credits under many sustainable building rating tools, including Green Star, WELL Building Standard and LEED v4.
This expansion to the range includes new colours for the 12mm panel collections, two new precision cut designs and a new panel size. The seven new colours include trendy colours peach, ivy green, jade green and smooth vanilla inspired by the last edition of Salone del Mobile Milano, lavender and onyx shades inspired by Pantone’s 2018 colour of the year Ultra Violet, and 454 Mushroom, the popular neutral palette taken from Woven Image’s Mura collection.
The two new precision cut designs are EchoPanel Longitude and Echopanel Latitude. Available in 27 colours and 12mm thickness, Longitude features vertical ‘V’ groove cut while Latitude features the horizontal version. This detailing creates an embossed like finish that brings a textural quality to the material. EchoPanel 12mm is also now available in large-format panel size of 2800 x 1200mm, facilitating seamless floor to ceiling wall installation.
