As part of its Hong Kong Indesign exhibition, international textile company Woven Image will launch Scale, a highly advanced, modular acoustic architectural shell that combines beauty and function.
November 17th, 2015
The growing trend of flexible workspaces has led to unexpected responses in the commercial environment. Businesses can grow, shrink or change directions in the blink of an eye, and furniture and office fittings often struggle to keep up with this unpredictability.
In response to this rapid change in commercial spaces, Woven Image has developed SCALE in collaboration with London designer Benjamin Hubert. Scale, which will be launched at this year’s Hong Kong Indesign, is a groundbreaking, modular acoustic architectural shell that combines beauty and function. This striking piece of internal architecture is an intuitive, out-of-the-box solution that requires no installation expertise, tools to assemble or integration with the built architecture.
Scale took three years in the making, and involved over 12 prototypes. Woven Image will unveil the modular acoustic partition system at The Space during Hong Kong Indesign, and showcase its highly advanced features such as its flexibility, sustainability, and simple installation.
Aside from the launch of Scale, Woven Image will also be drawing attention to two conceptual installations exclusive to Hong Kong Indesign. The Pentagon Dome is an interactive dome made with Woven Image’s EchoPanel 24mm. Visitors are encouraged to duck under the dome and immerse themselves in the acoustic experience. Attached to the Dome is the Pentagon Crumble, an installation that is also made with EchoPanel 24mm in pentagon-shape tiles. The Crumble will be installed from the ceiling and connected back to the Pentagon Dome.
Hong Kong Indesign looks set to be an exciting time for Woven Image. The brand will also be showcasing a new EchoPanel Mura print on the curved wall at The Space, as well as a way-finder floor sticker sporting the same pattern.
Woven Image will be exhibiting at The Space, 210 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan during Hong Kong Indesign.
