PGH Masters Collection: Artisanal Brick Making.

Textured, each quite unique and expertly hand-crafted; the Masters Collection of bricks is a celebration of the artistry that distinguishes a true sandstock brick.

Maintaining a time honoured tradition, Sandstocks are set apart from common extrusion bricks because they are produced by dropping wet clay into a sawdust lined mould, a process which PGH automated in 1982 to avoid compromising the bricks’ unique texture and characteristic, irregular arrises.

Once moulded, dried and fired over eight days, each product is ‘touched by the hand of man’ when sorted and hand-blended to ensure a tonal likeness – an exacting PGH quality control measure.

Named after some of the world’s most celebrated artists, the Masters collection gets back to celebrating traditional brick making with a modern twist. Renoir, Van Gogh, Da Vinci and Monet are the four lines produced right here in Australia, each with a choice of six brick shapes affording creative freedom.
