For the fourth time running, Moooi has transformed Via Savona 56 at Salone del Mobile into a vivid, immersive universe brimming with creativity.
April 15th, 2016
The centre of the Moooi presentation at Salone del Mob ile in 2016 is the Dutch company’s latest collection – 22 new Moooi pieces majestically presented in beautiful compositions, and all within a mysterious, brooding dark ballroom. The presentation follows a theme of ‘rebellious harmony’, akin to Moooi’s inherent style, with passageways leading off the main room into 14 luxurious and elegantly styled home settings.
Moooi’s name is a play on the Dutch word for beautiful, and their presentations are rarely anything less. On display are 21 wild and bright signature carpets and 22 new broadloom wall-to-wall creations, which feature photo realistic images and three-dimensional prints, achieved via high resolution printing technology. The exhibition also includes oversized prints by British photographer Rebecca Bathory, a demonstration of new customisable carpet technologies, and innovative lighting from Moooi creative and director and founder Marcel Wanders, and Umut Yamac’s bird-on-a-perch light.
As for furniture, the presentation features Lorenza Bozzoli’s elegant, fringed Amani sofa, Mercel Wanders’ black leather Jackson and Charleston sofas, and Paul Cocksedge’s floating Direttore bookshelf.
