Today’s hospitality environments call for adaptable, hard-wearing pieces that offer character and detail in design, while also being flexible to an ever-changing social-life-meets-work-life scene. This is the shifting world into which Sipa designs.
Today’s hospitality culture is worlds away from what it was five to 10 years ago. Where once upon a time it was simply a good meal you were after, the demands on hospitality spaces today are completely different. They’re hard-working communal spaces that service appetites as well as a sense of community. They respond to multiple customer demands that range from socialising to working – quick meet-ups, long lunches, focused plug-and-play time. The multi-tasking list continues!
Against the backdrop of this new-age hospitality scenario, Italian brand Sipa crafts classic yet contemporary furniture designs that straddle a triage of settings –hospitality, corporate break-out and residential.
With an eye to modern living trends and an expertise for working with solid wood, Sipa’s furniture collection blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary values. With this comes an appreciation for users’ changing needs and the increasingly flexible nature of hospitality spaces.
Sipa was recently launched at the Milan Furniture Fair and is now available in Australia exclusively through Stylecraft. Each furniture item is designed to be distinctive and detailed in its own right, yet adaptable through form, function and finish to any range of settings and situations.
The Fold table blends unique character with design restraint to adapt to a range of different contexts. Produced in solid wood with slim, shaped legs that adjoin to the table top in simple, rigorous lines; in its natural wood version it adds subtle, textural depth to any setting, providing most importantly easy functionality for any number of uses –formal, casual, communal or task oriented.
Tommy is an adjustable height stool that comes in two models and in a series of finish options to allow for easy personality tweaks to suit any settings. The solid yet elegant curves align with a variety of uses and environments, while its timber finish options inject a natural tactility into any design scheme. Available in an open-pore lacquered finish to natural or black.
Tommy’s taller counterpart is available in the same finishes, and with an extra layer of form and materiality brought in through the foot-rest.
Carrying with it a classic and comfortable design DNA, the Cut chair leaves a lasting impression with its spindled backrest, shaped in the rear and clean-cut in front. This distinctive detail is celebrated through a range of finishes, with the option of offsetting the clean cuts against a colourful lacquered finish. A double-panelled seat makes for a considerably lighter weight, making Cut an easy go-to for hospitality and domestic environments.
