Manon Youdale launches us into her world of exploration, nostalgia, old money and “Wild-Deer-Ness”
February 11th, 2008
A new collection of deer-inspired lights and accessories by Manon Youdale was launched at Space Furniture in time for Christmas 2007.
This is the third collection from the Australian designer, using elements of Australian Fallow and Red Deer antlers to capture the essence of wild Australia within her handmade furniture and lighting pieces.
Incorporating a coat rack, light, umbrella and male and female umbrella stand, the ‘Deer Little’ range also uses macassar ebony timber and Japanese mirrored polished stainless steel.
From her time spent in culturally rich and diverse places such as North West Africa, Europe and Asia, as well as Australia, Youdale became inspired to expose people in everyday environments to a world of exploration, creativity, and ‘wild-deer-ness’ through her products.
Manon graduated from East Sydney TAFE in 1991, and her work has since been featured in major publications such as Vogue and Indesign Magazine.
