Designed by Emiliana Design Studio for Ziru Contract, the Naoshima Stool and Table Collection is available in Australia exclusively through S&M Mobilia.
November 8th, 2011
The Naoshima Collection comprises a stool and table range designed by Emiliana Design Studio, who were commissioned by Francesc Rifé, Director of Design for Spanish furniture giant Ziru Contract.
Made from high strength plywood and timber, the stool design combines 4 identical pieces of plywood to construct the seat. The empty spaces generated in the plywood seat corners make the Naoshima a light and visually vivacious piece of furniture.
“We wanted to design a stool where all the parts were related with each other; a stool that could be understood as a continuous object, and not like four legs added to a seat” explain designers Ana Mir and Emili Padrós of Emiliana Design Studio.
The stool is produced in 3 different heights and available as round and square top tables or a high bar table, which includes a bag/jacket hook.
Naoshima is suitable for both contract and residential interiors.
