Product Description
Taking flora and fauna inspiration unique to his Australian desert life, Walmajarri Aboriginal artist, Jimmy Pike (1940-2002) utilised whatever medium he needed to express his stories in his art. And they were not necessarily traditional ones! Lino printing was a favourite medium and he had a passion for the vibrancy of felt tip pens.
Jimmy Pike’s two collections with Materialised, Desert Goes Digital and Desert In Colour, offer a contemporary interpretation of an amazing, timeless range of designs on high-quality, flame retardant fabric and wall covering, from an iconic Indigenous artist. Both collections are available in a variety of colourways. Or, work with Materialised’s in-house design team to customise to suit your project.
In the words of Jimmy – “Tread softly, fire is your friend, protect the water and celebrate the universal laws of nature. Travel and maintain the country, there’s plenty for all, continue to dream.”
