Beauty and functionality are standout features in the Fred leather desk and Naidei sofa/bed from Italian furniture brand Poltrona Frau.
February 9th, 2014
Designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, Fred embraces style and functionality with its featherlight structure and smooth leather surface. The leather desk tabletop features decorative handmade carvings and cold markings, while a special craft process allows the front of the leather to curve without external support, giving Fred its distinctive appearance.

Fred’s frame comes in wenge coloured solid ash wood and has a triangular profile for greater visual lightness. The same material is used for the desk drawer, which is mounted on metal soft-close runners. The Saddle Leather Extra used for the tabletop is available in dark brown and camel. The front edge is dyed and finished with protective wax.
Accessories come in galvanized gunmetal with a protective finish.
A sofa by day and a bed by night, Naidei fits perfectly into different areas of the home, from the living room to the study to the guest room.
Naidei is designed by Gabrielle and Oscar Buratti, It is elegant, practical and welcoming, and has a tilting mechanism with several different positions up to a maximum of a 90-degree angle. This enables the armrests to transform from a resting surface into a bedside table, which can also be integrated with a leather-upholstered shelf.
A hidden, simple-to-use mechanism makes the transformation quick and easy to do.
Naidei comes upholstered in either Pelle Frau Color System leather or fully-removable fabric, and is also available in a day bed version complete with drawers under the seat.
Poltrona Frau is carried in Hong Kong by ViA.
