Bookmarc is an all-new marketplace for the design industry, allowing architects to generate revenue from completed projects.
Looking to fill the gap between two industries, Bookmarc has created a tool for design firms and product suppliers to connect through project imagery using Project Connect.

Project Connect allows design firms to monetise their projects through a secure online platform by tagging in suppliers where they are visible in photos, in turn, allowing the product suppliers to gain access to striking project imagery that best showcases their products – win win!
“I realised early on for these architects & designers in the commercial space, there’s not a lot of marketing opportunities to put themselves out there & showcase their talent,” says Helen Awali, the founder of the Sydney start-up “Bookmarc initially developed a product library (think industry specific Pinterest) for product suppliers, though they also struggled to also market their products due to a lack of in situ images. Suppliers either didn’t have access to sites, know where they product was being installed or they’d have to render their products into images grabbed from the web sometimes without copyright permission.”
According to Awali, there wasn’t a central online solution to incentivise design firms to monetise their work beyond the traditional means of completing projects for the client. Bookmarc is a way to connect designer professionals directly with product suppliers in a unique visual platform.

By tagging, an invite is sent out to the supplier to feature their product within their design. Once the supplier connects to the product tag and adds the relevant details, the design firm will earn a fee for the connection providing the supplier with a digital portfolio, direct links to their product and the opportunity to use these images for online marketing material.
This is a great way for architects and designers to discover & source products from projects from all over, and we’re thrilled to be teaming up with Bookmarc as media partner for Sydney Indesign 2017.
