The Brisbane Powerhouse gets festive with Branch Out Part II.
December 24th, 2010
It’s Christmas, but not as you know it.
Following the success of 2008’s Branch Out, this year the Brisbane Powerhouse hosted the second instalment of an exhibition that reinvents the traditional idea of the Christmas tree.
Organisers Alexander Lotersztain, Surya Graf and Bjorn Rust drew 20 creative minds from a pool of architects, landscape architects, interior and industrial designers, fashion, advertising and the arts.
Each was supplied with a tree trunk to use as a framework for their reimagination of the form and concept.
The aim of the exhibit was to bring together members of diverse industries in a celebration of design and creative, innovative thinking.
This year’s Christmas tree designers were Cox Rayner, Jenni Baxter, Aaron Nielsen, Street & Garden Furniture Co, Laruche, Luxxbox, Simon DeGroot, Finn Creative, CMD, Paul Fairweather, Cottee Parker Architects, BVN Architecture, Comax, DA2, Hassell Architects, Gamble McKinnon Green, DJ Arnold, John Mongard, Derlot and Quench.
