June 5th was the kick off date Polytec’s QLD Design Week 2017, and culminated with an awards night celebrating a range of brilliant design across residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality sectors.

Polytec’s Queensland Design Week saw the brand teaming up with names such as Caesarstone, Shriro, Johnson Tiles and a host more, putting on events, talks, lunches and dinners to focus on the future of design, all crowned with the major event, the Polytec 2017 QLD Design Awards, held at ELEVEN rooftop bar on Thursday June 8.

The Design Awards brought together over 200 designers, architects and specifiers for a night of food, drinks and hobnobbing alongside the announcement of who had won the three categories of the Design Awards, Residential, Commercial Workplace & Healthcare, Retail & Hospitality. With over 50 projects submitted there was some very stiff competition, but who took home gold?

Residential – Studio LDM for ‘Starling Crescent’ in Peregian, QLD, which saw Polytec’s Natural Oak Ravine and Natural Oak Matt throughout.

Commercial Workplace & Healthcare – Plus Architecture for ‘Births, Deaths and Marriages Registry’ in Brisbane City, which saw Polytec’s Natural Oak Ravine employed in the battens and wall panelling.

Retail & Hospitality – TONIC Design for ‘Kingpin’ in the Crown Casino Melbourne, which saw Polytec’s Café Oak and Natural Oak Ravines used throughout the small tables and booths.

Congratulations to the winners, and to Polytec for continuing to champion great design.
