A NAWIC breakfast gathering in Sydney marked International Women’s Day, awarding a $10,000 scholarship

On 27 February guest speaker Helen Conway, Director at Workplace Gender Equality Agency shared her experiences and aspirations for gender equality in the workplace. Following this presentation Laila Mehrpour, the 2012 IWD Scholarship winner will shared her research findings. Laila’s paper is entitled – “The Great Australian Dream: Density and Aspirations in Sydney; global assessment of the relevance of aspirations in influencing spatial planning in cities”.
The winner of the 2013 IWD Scholarship valued at $10,000, funded by the proceeds of an auction item donated by Corporate Culture was also announced. Congratulations to Rana Abboud whose research proposition is titled “Architecture in an Age of Augmented Reality: AR’s Affordances for Design Visualization, Construction Supervision and Post-Completion Maintenance”.
