From Luxxbox comes Shelf 1, where sculptural space division and storage meet.
The new partitioning, storage and sound-absorbing Shelf 1 will hold special appeal for the neat and orderly among us – the versatile and scaleable design oozes cubular appeal, and can easily be reconfigured on a whim, to change the space or divide an open plan area.
It’s this need for flexible space dividing systems that has driven the design of the Shelf 1, ideal for both commercial and residential areas. The unique furniture piece can act as a room divider, storage system, or bookshelf while also serving as a sound-management tool all at once. By simply moving accessories – such as storage boxes and flexible, load-bearing shelves – and flipping sound-absorbing panels from side to side, the piece offers customizability and practical benefits for a noisy environments. During the design process, Luxxbox placed special emphasis on the aluminium joiners, which are key to both the strength and flexibility of this versatile system.
But its bag of tricks doesn’t end there. While Shelf 1 can operate as a standard freestanding unit, it can also be tethered to ceiling and floor with internal cables, making it appear to float with its lightweight frames. This frame also has a small packaging footprint to allow for economic freight and easy installation.
Noise and storage are problems everyone faces, whether at home or in the office, so why not solve both issues with one shelf, the Shelf 1 by Luxxbox.
