Since coming onto the scene 10 years ago, Besglas has been unwavering in its focus to design and produce high-quality, tailored designs for residential and commercial interiors that stand the test of time.

It’s a strategy that has served the Singaporean company well. Besglas recently marked its 10th anniversary with the opening of a second showroom in Malaysia, and as Wendy Lim, the company’s Business Development Manager says, they are now also looking to increase their services to the projects sector. “We’ve had quite a number of developers approach us to do work for them,” she says, adding that the company is already involved in projects for offices and condominiums.

In Singapore, Besglas has two showrooms, one in IMM, and the other in Park Mall. Their Singapore office-showroom and factory is located in Toa Payoh Industrial Park. All of the company’s doors, as well as its Ximula and Alumix wardrobe and organising systems, and glass paneling are designed and manufactured locally, which as Lim explains, “is because all the products have to be customised.”

The strength of the company rides not only on its ability to meet the specific requirements of each client, but also on its strong client servicing and after-sales capabilities. “Designers will come to us for help whenever they have a tough customer and we will service them,” says Lim, “In addition, clients can call our office anytime if they have issues or questions about the product, and we’ll be able to access their records and address their needs. We even have people who purchased products from us 10 years ago giving us a call!”

Ezi Door, the company’s very first product, remains one of its most popular offerings for residences. More recently, the Nero series from the Ximula brand has met with success since launching in 2012, thanks to its high customisability and flexibility. “The design is very slim and sleek. It’s very flexible and can be used in all parts of the house. In addition, the panels come in a lot of material options,” Lim explains.

Late last year, the company’s new Ximula Nero Leather series got a warm reception when it launched in Kuala Lumpur, and Lim says that the series will be made available in Singapore soon.

Looking ahead, Lim says Besglas’ strategy will be to continue to focus on improving and expanding on its core products of doors, wardrobe and organising systems, and glass paneling, even as it looks for opportunities to grow its business regionally.
