The places in which we learn are integral to our future. That the shortlist of The Learning Space in this year’s INDE.Awards encompasses the widest possible range of schools and institutions is testament that design plays a vital role in providing the most dynamic environments for students and teachers.

At the heart of The Learning Space category shortlist is fine design, state-of-the-art technology and functionality and, this coupled with creativity, takes our education community into the future with confidence. As supporter of The Learning Space, Autex Acoustics has been designing, developing and manufacturing innovative acoustics for the built environment for more than 30 years. Always progressive and passionate about design, Autex Acoustics is constantly devising new concepts and expanding the horizon of how acoustic treatments are applied within interior spaces. Just as the architects and designers apply new thought to their buildings and interiors, Autex Acoustics is there to support them both now and in the future.

Through enlightened design thinking, the projects in The Learning Space shortlist showcase exemplary design and Alexandria Fugle, Senior Marketing Coordinator, Autex Acoustics, remarked, “The education space has always been an important market sector, and with so many incredible projects listed in this year’s shortlist, it shows the importance and time these spaces are being given to ensure they are designed with learning in mind.”

The breadth of projects in this year’s The Learning Space shortlist is inspirational and reminds us that while we embark on the journey for knowledge, we can also be comfortable, enjoy advanced technology and be right at home in the place that affords us the opportunity to learn. Commenting on the projects Fugle said, “There is a great range of education projects in this year’s ‘The Learning Space’ category, ranging from early learning right through to tertiary education. Properly designed education spaces are crucial for the learning and development of students of all ages, so it’s really encouraging to see all sectors of the education market are thriving and being given the attention they deserve.”

As with every category, there are one or two projects that stand out from the crowd and Fugle observed that, “A stand out for Autex Acoustics is the Docklands Primary School designed by COX Architecture. Our sales and design team were heavily involved in this project so we are very aware of the efforts that went into ensuring this project was designed with good acoustics in mind.”

Yes, to create a great project takes much work and the products that are used are of vital importance to the end result. All projects in The Learning Space category shortlist will stand the test of time with forward thinking to support not only the next generation of students but also to enhance our commitment to education and help build community.

Just as the quest for education brings people together so we all connect when there is an event such as the INDE.Awards gala in Sydney on 5th August. This is a special time when we can all gather to celebrate the talent that resides within our Indo-Pacific community and as Fugle said, “We are really looking forward to seeing the quality of projects delivered around the Indo Pacific region, despite the restrictions the covid pandemic created around the world and within the A&D industry.”
