Without a doubt, design innovation is opening new doors to the way we live, work and play. Come 29 June, leaders of the industry will be gathering at the Design for Tomorrow master conference in Bangkok to hear the latest ideas that are expanding the limits of possibility.

More and more, design innovation is seen as an important tool for enhancing economic competitiveness in increasingly challenging times, and as a means for improving the quality of life.
In this context, good ideas are like gold, and thanks to technological advancements, we now have the capabilities to take them from paper to actualisation faster and better than ever before.
The design sector is where much of the innovative thinking begins. Indeed, our architecture and design industry is creating positive disruptions in a multitude of spheres: in our place of work, in retail and hospitality spaces, in our homes and more.
As one of the top three laminate producers in the world, Greenlam is a company driven by innovation. “We are constantly innovating, be it in terms of new and revolutionary products such as our HD Gloss and AFX anti-fingerprint laminates, or even the processes in our factory such as our use of biomass fuel to create energy,” explains Greenlam’s Managing Director and CEO Saurabh Mittal. Of note too is the fact that the company is the only laminate player in Asia to have converted all its products from standard grade to anti-bacterial grade.
Greenlam has been involved in major projects around the world, from airports to hotels, offices, retail spaces and more, so it’s a company with its finger firmly on the pulse of the ever-evolving field of design. Not just a producer of high quality laminates, the brand is making it its mission to facilitate knowledge sharing across the larger design profession.
On 29 June 2017, the company will be hosting a master conference on the topic of design innovation. Called Design for Tomorrow and held in Bangkok, Thailand, the event will be inviting three international, award-winning design innovators to share their ideas and knowledge with top executive from across Asia. Says Mittal, “We wanted to create a platform where our clients could come and hear from prominent industry figures, and be informed of the global trends happening in different sectors of the design industry.”
Award-winning, London-based designer Benjamin Hubert will be addressing an audience of over 1,500 regional heads as the conference’s keynote speaker. The Founder and Director of experience design agency LAYER will be sharing of how his studio is forging engaging, high-performance products that push the boundaries of possibility, and their practise of human-centred thinking across a diverse range of work.
Also there to speak, Angela Ferguson, Founder and Managing Director of Futurespace in Australia will be presenting unique perspectives on the future workplace. This interior design and architectural agency is leading the way in creating future spaces in which people work, learn and live, and counts Google, Microsoft and Qantas as its clients.
Having just been named ‘Europe 40 Under 40’ (2016/2017) by The European Center for Architecture and The Chicago Athenaeum – an award that recognises Europe’s next generation of talented architects – Adam Tarr, Founder and Principal of MZO TARR Architects from the UK has developed a reputation for designing buildings based upon the principles of Game Theory. At the upcoming Design for Tomorrow master conference, Tarr will be sharing how he applies this strategic decision making process to his work.
