Lighting has always played a pivotal role in creating functional, comfortable and beautiful interiors, but incorporating high-quality lighting at places of work, educational facilities and institutions has never been more critical. As the traditional role of the indoors undergoes a dynamic transformation, architects, interior designers and lighting experts are recognising the augmented role of light in designing spaces for the new reality.

Beyond being aesthetically pleasing and functional, light is becoming an even greater agent in improving wellbeing, fostering focus and concentration, and enhancing the comfort of its users. Louis Poulsen has always recognised the importance of lighting in ensuring occupants can prosper indoors – and their latest addition to the LP Slim family is an architectural lighting fixture that truly reflects that philosophy.
Following the same attention to detail in working with the reflections, diffractions and effects the round products from the LP Slim family are already known for, the rectangular LP Slim Box is designed to help people thrive indoors – and it’s suitable for a broad range of applications and architectural spaces.
The new shape will work particularly well for workspaces, classrooms, restaurants, hospital buildings and other open spaces that require an even or elongated distribution of light. Its new form of 700mm and 1400mm brings modern simplicity and unassuming presence to any interior, even when the light isn’t on. The selection of white or black – powder-coated or clear lacquered – pickled aluminium can add a streamlined yet striking visual detailing to any space, whether the light is incorporated as a stand-alone lighting fixture or used in a group of multiple panels.
The quality of light LP Slim Box produces is exceptional. The slim frame houses a high-efficiency LED light unit emitting diffused directed downward light while dimming controls and the ability to change the light temperature between 2700K and 5700K provides precise control in responding to the bespoke needs of its users as well as greater flexibility in creating a comfortable ambience within the interior.
Recognising the importance of indirect light, the new LP Slim Box also features an uplight which provides distinctive illumination of ceilings and more comfortable lighting overall – especially when the lamp is suspended over a desk or in a classroom.
Even the smallest detail of LP Slim Box has been designed with soft illumination in mind. In a nod to the broader LP Slim family, the new model features curved inner edges that reduce contrast, while the diffuser folds into the fixture with its small edge, catching and reflecting the light.
With the classic, clean design that can fit in any modern interior and the highest quality of light reflecting Lous Poulson’s globally recognised lighting philosophy, LP Slim Box is an excellent addition to their existing range of architectural lighting. Universal in the simplicity of form, its structural potential, and the exceptional amount of lighting control to cater to bespoke needs of the occupants, LP Slim Box is the perfect choice for designers and architects who look to elevate the style of a space while prioritising the wellbeing of its occupants.
