Chris Hardy P/L has been developing Australian made furniture and lighting products for local specification markets since 2007. In this time we have developed excellent relationships with a wide variety of quality manufacturers and suppliers with whom we now collaborate in the development of new work.
The expertise we have accumulated in developing ranges under our own brand enables us to offer a consultancy service to develop products to a client’s specific requirements in terms of a budget, required aesthetic and lead time. An outdoor communal table and bench seat assembly called Slide, developed specifically for an education context, is a good example of this. The client, Malcolm Boyes from the Northern Sydney Institute, Northern Beaches Campus, was unable to find an existing product within the supplier network that suited the application or budgetary requirements and instead chose to work with us to develop a product that did.

Malcolm explains: ‘As a leading education provider, we must foster innovation and ensure we recognise opportunities to create amazing learning experiences for our students. Working with Chris has been rewarding; we saw this as opportunity to develop and manufacture a product locally that our students can interact with, enjoy and appreciate. The collaboration showcases leading design in an environment that appreciates and supports the growth of talented individuals’.
