Whoever said that sinks need to be boring?! Now, thanks to Corian, your sink can be as stylish as it is functional too. Presenting the Sparking Sink!
Thanks to new technology, a burgeoning design industry, and increasingly savvy consumers, design has established itself as an integral component of the contemporary home and apartment. It is now clear that aesthetics do not need to take a back seat to functionality – not least in the kitchen, where appliances and fittings are marrying style and functionality more adeptly than ever.
Fridges are growing sleeker and more efficient, bench tops are ever more streamlined into seamless, modern forms, and tiles and splashbacks are available in a fresh new palette of colours and materials. At the same time, range hoods and extractor fans are getting quieter and more compact, cabinets are available with a dizzying variety of door options, and drawers are allowing for soft touch, hands-free operation. It seems that every item in the kitchen has undergone a makeover – everything but the kitchen sink, that is. Many of today’s kitchens combine high-end fittings and technology with plain, utilitarian sinks that closely resemble those of the past and do little to enhance the room’s overall design.
However, this need not be the case for any longer. The new range of Corian®’s Sparkling Sinks provides sinks with a much-needed contemporary refresh, bringing bold, striking design to one of the kitchen’s most overlooked elements. The three Sparkling Sinks models combine the beauty of Corian® with a practical, high performance stainless steel base in a statement basin of unmatched practicality and elegance.
Perfect for achieving a clean, streamlined kitchen aesthetic, Corian® Sparkling Sinks are the ideal sink solution for integrated sinks and waterfall ends. The sinks can be sub-mounted beneath Corian® benchtops for a smooth, seamless transition between counter and sink, and are available in all shades of the Corian® colour range to ensure a perfect colour match on each project. Cirrus White, Pearl, and Glacier White add a touch of elegance and classic luxury to any home kitchen, while the textured, dark finish of Lava Rock conjures effortless industrial chic. A welcome addition to a restrained, neutral palette, Rain Cloud blends an off-white tone with grey veins, creating a depth of texture at once subtle and sophisticated.
As with any Corian® product, careful consideration of the needs and expectations of the modern kitchen user is apparent in all elements of Sparkling Sinks. From the smooth, graceful design lines and velvety surface of the Corian® sink walls to the durable, high-grade stainless steel base, the sinks are designed and built to last. The heat resistant stainless steel base allows Sparkling Sinks to be used with instant boiling taps, and is quick and easy to clean and maintain; a low-profile joint between the Corian® and stainless steel components prevents build up and water collection.
Practicality drives every component of the Sparkling Sink range, and is softened by deft contemporary design. Tight radius corners ensure a modern look and maximum sink space, while the underside of the stainless steel bases are coated with a noise-reducing layer and fit with an anti-vibration pad, significantly reducing the noise levels associated with stainless steel sinks. Meanwhile, a specially designed anti-blocking overflow is both sleek and practical, as is a 90mm stainless steel waste with basket fitting for the drain. It should be noted that sinks in the Sparkling Sink range are not compatible with in-sink garbage disposals.
Sparkling Sinks are available in three versatile sizes to enable mixing and matching to suit the layout of your kitchen, and are supplied with a 10-year installed warranty. Sparkling in both name and nature, the range brings sink design well and truly into the 21st century, delivering functional, understated contemporary design to all aspects of the kitchen.
