Taking eco thinking to the next level, the Visy headquarters in Melbourne takes sustainability to new heights.
July 15th, 2019
Visy is one of Australia’s largest privately own companies. With recycling at its core, it was only fitting that when it came time to redesign its Melbourne headquarters that sustainability would be front and centre.
Employing over 9500 staff across Australia, it was important that Visy’s office be a place that embodies the company motto of ‘For a Better World’, while living and breathing what it was built upon – recycling.
It comes as no surprise that the new workplace considers sustainability in a multitude of ways. Taking on the task was A1 Office. The redesign features a careful selection of products, each chosen for their sustainable attributes and end-to-end lifecycle.
The flooring, from Carpets Inter EcoSoft range from Above Left, is made from 54,000 recycled plastic bottles. The confetti breakout tables from DesignbyThem are another nod to the recycling ethos, with speckled columns comprised of 100 per cent recycled plastic.
“A1 Office is pleased to be the creator of choice when it comes to reimagining what a workspace should be for Australia’s biggest companies, who are increasingly looking toward more eco-friendly futures,” says Jared Wade, CEO A1 Office.
