Cosentino, world leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design last night formally recognised its Australian expansion into Victoria.
October 16th, 2014
To mark the expansion, MotoGP champion and Spanish native, Jorge Lorenzo was on hand ahead of the Melbourne Grand Prix this weekend. Two of Spain’s best exports, Cosentino and Jorge, celebrated the official opening the new facilities alongside Cosentino’s local customers and partners.
The Spanish company continues to build momentum locally since launching in Australia in 2011. Following an initial $4.2 million investment, Cosentino has seen 55% growth year on year, prompting the company’s entry into the Victorian market with the opening of a new 1,572m2 showroom and warehouse facility in Melbourne.
Dekton by Cosentino ambassador, Jorge Lorenzo said of the event, “I’m excited to continue stand alongside Cosentino as they celebrate their ongoing success in Australia and internationally. It has been fantastic to see such great passion and commitment coming out of Spain and each time I visit Australia, I can see how much they are continuing to grow here. I love coming to Melbourne every year for the MotoGP so visiting my fellow Spaniards at Cosentino will be just another excuse for a visit!”
Gary Isherwood, Area Director for Cosentino Australia, comments: “Melbourne sits at the centre of design in Australia, so we’re excited to be joining a community that is so dedicated to producing really beautiful products and designs. Our new showroom reflects the stylish, modern style that Cosentino – and Melbourne – is known for, and we’ve designed it to be a space where consumers, architects and designers can engage with our product range first-hand.”
“Our newest and most innovative product, Dekton, has just arrived in Melbourne so we’re confident in the potential this surface has for Victorian designers, specifiers and architects. We’re thrilled Jorge can be here with us to help generate excited about our newest innovation and new showroom!”
Victoria’s showroom and warehouse features Cosentino’s extensive range of products and finishes, including Silestone®, Eco® by Cosentino, which is composed of 75% recycled materials as well as their newest innovation, Dekton®, an ultracompact surface with almost limitless applications. With prototype bench tops and a palette of colours on display, the showroom gives architects, designers and consumers the opportunity to see Cosentino’s extensive range of surfaces in person.
Cosentino’s Melbourne showroom and warehouse are located at 44 Corporate Drive, Heatherton.
